Crowdfunding, as defined by the SEC, is the raising of funds from a large number of people (the crowd) through an intermediary website (funding portal) using internet technology. Each investor invests a small amount, but the power of a sufficient number of investors can meet the financial needs of a business.

Crowdfunding is suitable for:
1. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) or startups
2. Investors who are not publicly traded companies listed on the stock exchange

Equity and debt-based crowdfunding is considered a public offering of securities and is therefore subject to the Securities and Exchange Act B.E. 2535, regulated by the SEC.

There are two types of crowdfunding supervised by the SEC:
1. Equity Crowdfunding
2. Debt Crowdfunding

TRUSTENDER falls under Debt Crowdfunding (crowdfunding debentures), which is a fundraising method involving the issuance of debentures offered to investors through an intermediary website.
